Washington State has adopted the Companion Home model as one of the residential settings available to individuals with disabilities. As funding becomes available, people throughout the State will have this option if it is the most suitable for their circumstances.
Autism Community Services model for providing residential supports is effective and efficient. Individuals with autism living in their own communities has proven to be rewarding for the individuals, their families, their companions and their neighborhoods.

  • Be at least 18 years old
  • Have a HS diploma or GED
  • Pass a background check
  • Pass first aid, CPR and Blood-borne pathogens classes
  • Have a home (rental is OK) with an extra bedroom
